We are excited that you would like to serve the body of Christ by serving with us in Heritage’s Children’s Ministry. Below you will find a list of the many opportunities we offer for you to get involved. Here are a few steps to take to make that happen:
1. Complete and submit the online application. Included in your application is a background check.
2. The Children’s Director will follow up with you to set up an informational meeting.
3. Commit time to training and classroom observations.
Areas to Serve in the Children's Ministry:
New Family Host
Greets new families, assists with check in procedures and introduces them to the child’s teacher. The host will be in the Children’s Center at 9:15am – 9:45am and 11:00am – 11:15am
Safety Team
Ensures that people entering the children’s area have a check-in sticker at the security doors.
Preschool Worship Team Member
Works on a team to teach our (3’s-5’s) during the Worship Service. This is a month on month off commitment for one school year.
Preschool Worship Team Leader
Leads the team to teach our (3’s -5’s) during the Worship Service. Makes sure that the team is active and coordinates the activities during the Worship Service. This is a month on month off commitment for one school year.
Nursery Team Members
Works with our babies to 2’s in the nursery during the Worship Service or during the Community Group hour. This is a once a month commitment.
Nursery Team Leaders
Oversees the Nursery Team during the Worship Service and Community Group hour. Assist parents with check in of babies and toddlers. Ensures that the Nursery Team has what they need for the morning. Ensures accurate attendance of children. Directs parents for pick of children.
Children’s CG Team Teachers (3’s – 6th grade)
Leads discussion and activities with a small group of elementary students, based on age. This a month on month off commitment for one school year.
Substitute Teacher
Fills in when a teacher or assistant is missing or supplements a classroom with higher than normal attendance
Special Buddies Leader
Assists children with special needs
Midweek Task Team
Handles “behind-the-scenes” details such as craft preparation, administration, laundry, resource room restocking, and storage organization.
